The Institute of Seed Technology at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University was established with a commitment to excellence in education, research, and innovation in the field of seed science. Recognizing that quality seed is the backbone of sustainable agriculture, our institute strives to produce skilled professionals and generate scientific knowledge that supports the growth of the national seed sector.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) approved the Institute of Seed Technology to offer MS and PhD degrees from 2014, marking a significant milestone in our academic journey. Since then, we have continued to strengthen our postgraduate programs through advanced coursework, modern laboratory facilities, and research opportunities aligned with national agricultural needs.

Through dedicated teaching, hands-on training, and strong partnerships with national and international organizations, we remain committed to contributing to agricultural development and ensuring food security in Bangladesh.
